"Friending" policy.
I seriously do not care who puts me on their flist. If you like, drop a comment, but I won't be offended if you don't. I won't, however, necessarily add you back. Don't take it personally; I'm trying to keep my reading list manageable.
I flist at a whim. I also take people off at a whim too. It generally has little to do with whether you're interesting: perhaps the wind is in the west, or it's a high-gravity day or you're talking about a show I've suddenly fallen for. Sweat it not, and I'll do you the same courtesy in return.
I do filter my reading list. I also filter some posts, mostly for personal security reasons and TMI.

I love it when people respond to a post, especially when it's fic. Or when it's not. Comments are great! However I'm on limited access to LJ because of webmonitoring at work. What this means is that although I get all comments delivered to my email box, and I read them all, I simply cannot physically respond to everything everyone has to say. I'm sorry if this offends anyone; I just can't reply to everything, not and still keep up with any writing of my own, and reading other people's LJ posts. Please don't take any failure to reply personally.
